The bergamot is where we refuse to compromise.
A London Fog only tastes right when the bergamot is right. We source cold-pressed Calabrian bergamot oil from a single family cooperative on the Ionian coast — the same fruit that gives authentic Earl Grey its citrus perfume and long, quiet finish.
Our black-tea base is Ceylon high-grown, hand-selected for the roundness that stands up to steamed milk. Vanilla is Madagascar Bourbon, extracted slowly at low heat so nothing sharpens. Every bottle we ship has been tasted, not just tested.
The result is a latte that reads as gentle and complete — the way a proper cup should feel on a grey afternoon.
A quiet obsession, a decade in the making
Milestones from a small tea room in the Pacific Northwest to America’s dedicated London Fog house.
A single kettle, one recipe
The London Fog begins as a two-table tea bar with one drink on the board — Earl Grey, steamed milk, vanilla. Word travels quickly.
The signature vanilla syrup
After eleven trial batches we finalise our house vanilla syrup and begin bottling for the counter. It becomes our first shipped product.
Calabrian bergamot partnership
A direct-trade agreement with a family cooperative in southern Italy secures our bergamot supply. Our Earl Grey blend is rebuilt from scratch.
The concentrate arrives
A cold-brewed London Fog concentrate launches for home use — the same café cup, ready in two minutes on the stovetop.
The complete collection
Six essentials, three variations, and an ever-growing library of recipes. Still one obsession — the perfect London Fog.
Written about, quietly
What our regulars say
“I’ve stopped ordering London Fogs out. Nothing at the café touches what I can make at my own kitchen counter with a bottle of the concentrate and a milk frother.”
“The bergamot is what does it. It smells like a real tea shop when the kettle goes on — floral, a little bitter, exactly right. My mornings are quieter for it.”
Questions, thoughtfully answered
What exactly is a London Fog?
A London Fog is an Earl Grey tea latte — strong-brewed Earl Grey tea combined with steamed milk and vanilla syrup. Our version stays true to the original Vancouver café recipe, using cold-pressed bergamot Earl Grey and slow-cooked Madagascar Bourbon vanilla.
How much caffeine is in a London Fog?
A standard 12 oz London Fog made with our Earl Grey blend contains roughly 40–55 mg of caffeine — about a third of a typical drip coffee. It’s a gentler morning ritual, or a lovely afternoon pause. A decaf version is available for evenings.
Can I make it with oat milk or other non-dairy?
Yes — beautifully. Oat milk is our own preferred pairing; it foams cleanly and complements the bergamot without competing with it. Almond, soy and macadamia all work. Our concentrate is fully vegan, and our syrup contains no animal ingredients.
What’s the difference between your London Fog and the Starbucks or Tim Hortons version?
Both cafés serve a version of the London Fog, but they typically use flavoured syrups over standard tea bags. Ours starts from whole-leaf Earl Grey with real bergamot oil and a cooked vanilla syrup rather than flavour concentrate. The result is more tea-forward and less sweet.
How long does the concentrate keep?
Sealed, the London Fog Tea Latte Concentrate keeps for twelve months in the pantry. Once opened, refrigerate and use within fourteen days. The syrup keeps for six months refrigerated after opening.
